Algarve Coast, Portugal – July 2016
Day 1 (09/07) – Arrival to Faro. From airport Straight to the beach
Praia do Faro
Sand dunes. Mostly local portugese crowd. Big waves. Quite deep. Fine Sand. Clean water
Day 2 (10/07) – Morning beach (cancelled). Shopping in the mall by afternoon then football final Portugal vs France at night
Oh no! Cristiano Ronaldo injured …
…but Portugal won the final. Big party in the streets.

Very modern and clean + top class bathroom. Kinda far from everything but near the shopping mall.
Day 3 (11/07) – morning check out; train Faro-Albufeira (ticket fare 3,30 eu). Arrival, check in–> Praia dos Arrifes – about 4-5km away from our residence.
Praia dos Arrifes
Cute little beach. Lots of small rock formation. Its like one big exotic pool
Nightlife at Albufeira
Rua Alves Correia 72, Albufeira

Kinda old, dirty and small but location is great. Right at the center
Day 4 (12/07) – Day in Zoomarine. Roundtrip Albufeira – Zoomarine EUR 7 + EUR 29 entrance fee. Evening to Portimao (ticket fare 3,30 eu).
It was waste of precious day. Zoomarine was too “kiddy”.
Day 5 (13/07) – Portimao. Praia de Marinha – Bus to Lagoa. From Lagoa -> Praia de Marinha. No buses going back. Need to walk back
Praia de Marinha
Breathtaking scenario. Cold water. Lots of seaweed. Not easy access but still worth it
Day 6 (14/07) – Portimao. Praia de Rocha. Around 40 min walking distance from our residence (and we can observe the town on our way ;)) Evening to Lagos (ticket fare 2eu).
Praia de Rocha
It looks like any other great beaches in Europe from afar. But imo it has the cleanest water and smoothest sand of all beaches we visited. Swimming friendly. Lots of babes. Wish we lived near and experienced the nightlife
Rua Camilo Castelo Branco, Portimão

Very far from everything but great big room + free breakfast
Day 7 (15/07) – Lagos. Morning train from Portimao to Lagos.
Ponta da Piedade (#1 on TripAdviser 10-15eur per 1h30min tour) cano or boat-trip. Afterwards coast hiking. Check Lagos nightlife
Praia do Batatas (view)
Praia do Camilo (view)
Praia da Dona Ana
Former best beach in Algarve. Its almost like a small Praia de Marinha but with bigger waves. Lots of seaweeds though
Travessa de Santo Amaro Bloco D, 3rd Floor, Lagos

Good room. Nice view. Can be hard to find as the streets is like a maze. Superb bathroom btw

Good host + free breakfast and near the city center and busstops but small, no windows, not as much privacy
Overall: Algarve is one of my favorite travel experience ever. I would say that its the best place I’ve been in Europe. It’s quite complete imo: Beautiful beaches, cute girls, amazing scenaries, friendly locals, seafoods, trekking, surf etc.
I definately would come back!!!
